Round up of activities by the Glossop Youth Engagement Team (Week beginning 2nd to 8th March)

Glossop YET - Round up of activities by the Glossop Youth Engagement Team 

On Monday 2nd March the team attended New Mills Secondary School, Church Lane, New Mills to complete an input/special assembly with all of their Year 8 Students.

On Tuesday 3rd March the team attended St Philip Howard CVA, Sunlaws Street, Glossop to complete a lunch time drop in session and then later the same day an input on Shattered (knife crime awareness) with a student.

On Friday 6th march the team attended Glossopdale School & Sixth form, Newshaw Lane, Hadfield to complete a lunch time drop in session.  Including Town centre foot patrols in Glossop during the late evening. 

On Saturday 7th March the team attended New Mills Youth Club - ‘Youth Matters’ Teen drop - which is held there every Saturday (during term times) between 7 pm until 9 pm - specifically for ages 14+.

On Sunday 8th March 2 Early Intervention Clinics were held by Glossop YET at Glossop Police Station between 3 pm and 5 pm.

These Clinics are seen as a form of early intervention and and are used as part of our restorative jutice system and are administered by officers trained to deliver these workshops.

Derbyshire Police operate several early intervention programs focused on preventing crime, supporting vulnerable young people, and addressing anti-social behaviour through partnership with local services. 

Thank you to each of the schools mentioned above for their co-operation and agreement in allowing our YETs attendance at school. Thank you to Youth Matters New Mills for the invite to come along and engage with the young people of New Mills on Saturday.

Our Youth Engagement Teams (YET) work with young people across Derbyshire to keep them safe and informed on the areas of policing which can affect them.
